2011 in Poster - My Favorite Movie Poster

Movie poster, which have been used as a way to entice audience into theatres, is considered as an art. Truth be told, Internet is such a help of movie poster's revival. Mostly, audience excitement of a movie have been built after they see its poster that always leak first via internet. It creates a groundswell of interest in a movie.

Last year I wrote a commentary of twenty-ten best posters. I was not really understand how to sort out which one is the best and which another ones are the junk. Well, movie posters have always been an early form of artistic expression of what the film itself would be. It is debatable when people say that an Oscar worthy film would always surely have a good poster as well as its story. No. Go take a look at The King's Speech poster for example. That is one of those posters which give me such a boredom as I sees them. In fact there are so many bad films with tasty artwork and even bitter shits who've had enough.

A poster can get my attention if they have a gorgeous scheme of color combination, unusual photoshop editing, nostalgic style homage, or maybe a bold still from the film that pique my curiosity. It's always refreshing to see a movie poster that often intrigues and excites me.

2011 was a great year with so many great film competed each other. We've got some quirky breakthroughs poster with bright background, comedies with the cast in a mess, freaky eye close-up, etc. I'm starting last year coverage by take a peak at the most memorable movie posters that year. I didn't write a commentary one by one anyway. These are crop of one-sheets I've collected;
